Spinal stenosis is a type of back pain caused by arthritic deposits narrowing the spinal canal and rubbing against the spinal cord. As you can imagine it is usually very painful. Stenosis in the cervical area, called cervical stenosis, has been treated with medication and, in some cases, surgery.
