Solar powered cars are your coming future

February 10th, 2012 by author

Solar powered cars will get here eventually. In the 1990’s, emissions laws were being enforced throughout the United States. Many colleges and universities began looking at the possibility of solar powered cars. The finding were that the solar collectors for the cars to run were too large to be put into the vehicles. Development continues on the solar collections to make it possible.

Alternative Energy Source: Solar Energy Systems For Homes

December 4th, 2011 by author

You can even install a battery to store up energy on sunny days to use when clouds appear. On the days where you generate more solar electricity than you use, many power companies will buy back your electricity. That’s right, a utility invoice, not bill. Not only can solar electricity help save you money, it might even mean a check or two from the electric company.

Solar panels is here to stay and as it develops it will only become more efficient, affordable and powerful. Solar panels could be the very solution to the world’s energy problems.

From an environmental point of view, wind solar power clearly stands out and has taken on a new appeal. Wind and sunlight being inexhaustible were thus seen as the best alternative. IWind is just one of the many alternative energy sources that may preserve our environment from the effects of fossil fuels.

But you can install panels and benefit from solar electricity now! A couple of solar panels on your roof can be installed and linked up to your house AND your power grid. You can also head on over to Lowe’s home store. This massive superstore always has much to offer. Pick up a contemporary solar outdoor light or two today.

How to Transform Sunlight Into Solar Energy

November 8th, 2011 by author

If you are not using that much electricity from the solar energy generated, it is stored in a battery so will be able to supply the house with power during a power outage or at night. Should the battery be full, the excess electricity is then exported to the utility grid if your system happens to be connected to it. When your solar energy runs out, utility supplied electricity kicks in.

As you can see, transforming sunlight into solar energy is very easy. But why do countries like Germany and Japan use it more often than the US? The answer is because it is much cheaper for them to use this form of alternative energy compared to oil.

Also, although the US initiated this during the 1973 oil crisis, it is not as popular as it was back then because the government neither increased the budget in research for alternative forms of energy nor gave incentives so people will be encourage into doing that again.

Using solar battery charger is just one way to make the most out of solar energy. Your other option is passive solar energy which helps avoid heat loss so those inside will not feel too cold or too hot throughout the day.

Paying Homeowners to Roll their Own Solar Power

October 21st, 2011 by author

Somehow, Europe has managed to get everyday people to voluntarily and enthusiastically fall behind personal solar energy production like no one in America does (except for maybe members of Greenpeace). On the streets of small-town Germany or Spain, the glint of solar panels on every roof or the whirr of a wind turbine in a back is so common a sight, that you’ll soon stop noticing. Of course, it would not be strictly correct to describe their adoption of alternative energy as entirely voluntary.

The local governments in these areas pay homeowners the best rates possible for the electricity they supply to the grid, often four or five times what a utility company would get. This method of encouraging people to switch to solar power or wind power has been so successful that counties and districts across the US are beginning to take note. Last year, Gainesville, Florida became the first convert to the European model. The great prices that homeowners get for everyunit of power they produce, encourage them to invest in these expensive installations; and city councils have been enthusiastically backing these efforts.

A unique Solar Flag Light

July 11th, 2011 by author

A solar flag light will illuminate the flag on even the darkest nights. Installation of a flag light is quite easy and the maintenance on one is next to nil. However, since the lights are so reasonable, rather than fix them, some people just throw them away if they quit working. One reason for this is that people don’t even know that most solar lights have some replaceable parts.

Solar lights grab energy from the sun during the day and store it in batteries till they need the energy in the dark to power the light bulbs. Many people don’t realize that the batteries used in many solar rock lights are common rechargeable batteries and if they fail, they can usually be replaced with the same sized rechargeable batteries bought from local stores.

Also, there are times when the rechargeable batteries get so low that they can’t be sufficiently charged by the sun. In this case, most of the rechargeable batteries can be recharged in an appropriate sized battery charger to give them a boost. Yet, many people throw their solar light fixtures away instead, because they don’t know how easily they can be fixed.

Solar Energy Materials And Solar Cells – The Future Of Generating Energy For the Home

May 30th, 2011 by author

Solar Energy Materials And Solar Cells for residential houses is nothing new. It has just been relegated to the background in lieu of rising cost of real estate; newer more advanced building materials, design and the limitation of resources.

Since man started building homes, sunlight played a major influence in the design. In fact, even in the more advanced urban planning method of the Ancient Chinese and Greeks, the orientation of the buildings is as much as possible directed towards where it could capture the most sunlight.

The ancients might not be as intellectually sophisticated then to use catch phrases as passive solar and thermal mass but when they build, they were building in compact proportion, employing overhangs, producing insulations and building in manners that direct the airflow within the structure and producing well lit, well ventilated spaces using the relative position of the sun to the orientation of their structures.

Lately, as the conventional sources of energy became more expensive, homeowners were once again turning to the sun for energy requirements.

Since the 1950′s, harnessing the sun’s rays has been developing and today the solar cell technology has achieved very efficient levels that modern (so-called green house) designs apply the sun’s power to provide energy for the home.

While solar energy is free, the device that will convert it to run our appliances is not. To provide solar energy for the home, solar cells called photovoltaic made from semi-conducting materials, are grouped into modules. These solar panels are mounted on rooftops, yards or open spaces where it can capture the maximum amount of sunlight.

Whenever possible, the panels will be installed facing south to get the most out of the sunlight but tracking systems are also used to follow the direction of the sun. The solar panels collect the energy from the sunlight. The process basically is that when the panels are exposed to sunlight, the electrons are separated form the atoms. This movement of the electrons creates electricity.

To store power, pumps are often used – circulating water in the cells. The water goes into a storage tank where the power is stored, ready for use. Sometimes, the use of gravity is employed if it will just the same store the heated water in to the tank.

In spite of all the development in solar energy though, the use of this technology is not enough to provide power to the whole house. The best method so far can only fulfill about 80% of a households power needs. The employment of solar energy for the home will still require the use of the conventional power distribution method.

Powering the homes by solar means will still, for a while be augmented by a local power distribution agency. To many, this is already a good starting point. Homeowners that feel that the high cost of powering their houses through solar power, is justified when compared to the price that is now being paid for conventional electrification method where horrendous amounts of CO2 are being dumped into the atmosphere just to generate a pitiful amount of electricity.

However, due in part to the rising costs of energy, the Solar Energy Materials And Solar Cells have been undergoing rapid phases of development. Experts are confident that within five years, powering the home through the solar method will be made widely available for those who prefer it as its sole energy source.

Time To Get Your Residential Solar Power On

Residential Solar Power still seems to be a subject that several folks don’t quite realize. Not that they don’t realize what it really is, on the contrary. They know all about solar power and what it can do to change your life but they just do not get the thought that it really is some thing that you’ll be able to truly put together and install your self.

Solar power was once a power source only had by the really rich and yes, some systems can still be fairly pricey depending on the size of system you’ll want to develop. Just within the last couple of years have several diverse organizations come out with systems which are much less pricey and truly put out a lot more power than ever before. I have even seen fairly several advertisements on TV lately promoting a solar power generator you’ll be able to acquire and set up to run individual items inside your residence.

The factor is that right now you’ll be able to start tiny and scale up your system over time to meet the power requirements of your residence and by performing that you’ll be able to spread out the expense and get your system eventually up and running which will then get you entirely off the grid. Sound great?

I just wrote an article on residential solar power that you ought to give a quick read and whilst you might be here check out all of our articles on the subject of residential solar power kits and get wise on how you can too can grow to be energy independent.

Solar Power Cost Trends Look Positive

October 22nd, 2010 by author

If ever you were going to convert your home heating or other appliances to solar, now is the time.

Solar power cost trends have gone down since the 1970′s and continue to go down every year as more and more companies are determined to lead the way in the relatively new-old field of solar power. The standard to determine solar power cost trends is called the cost per watt. In 1982, the cost per watt was $27. In 2003, this has dropped to $4. This is expected to drop even further.

Solar power cost trends for the initial installation are also going down. Most states now give tax breaks or tax refunds to any homeowner converting to solar energy. Many states have other green incentives, especially in sunshine-heavy California.

Ways to save money on gas

September 28th, 2010 by author

One thing is for sure when you purchase a new or used vehicle the smaller the car is usually means it will run farther on less gas. Again, this is not always the case. Some of the newer hybrid SUVs get better mileage than cars that are much smaller with older technology.

So you can see that there are many different and simple solutions when it comes to ways to save money on gas.

One of these renewable energy sources is wind power. Wind turbines continue to be developed that are progressively more energy efficient and less costly. “Wind farms” have been springing up in many nations, and they have even become more strategically placed over time so that they are not jeopardizing birds as former wind turbines did.

Don’t drive as much. This is the ultimate way to save money on gas but probably the hardest. If you can convince your boss to let you telecommute then you can save not only gas but also the headache and stress of driving to and from work each day.

Another alternative energy resource is the one that is most well known: solar energy. This involves the manufacturing of solar cells which gather and focus the energy given off directly by the sun, and translate it into electricity or, in some cases, hot water. As with wind energy, solar energy
creates absolutely zero pollution.

A backyard is seen as incomplete without a Propane fire pit

May 13th, 2010 by author

You you have recognized, a backyard, a front yard or a garden is seen as incomplete without a fire pit. Nowadays you can find a wide aray of firepits: find the traditional outdoor brick fire pit, find the classy and contemporary copper fire pit and to the more advanced propane firepit. The propane gas powered firepit is very important type of fire pit, suited for garden campfire or grill cooking or for both benefits in a single go.

Do you know that people these days prefer the propane firepits to any other type of fire pit due to the fact that is it’s easy up-keep. Also equip your backyard with solar garden lighting.

Ocean wave energy is seen by governments and investors as having enormous energy generating potential. A generator in France has been in operation for many years now and is considered to be a great success, and the Irish and Scots are running experimental facilities.

Hydroelectric power has been with us for a while and where it is set up, it is a powerful generator of electricity and cleaner than a grid. However, there are certain limitations to the availability of the right places to set up a large dam. Many run-of-the-river, or small and localized, hydroelectric generators have been set up in recent times due to this limitation.

Amelot Holdings is a company which presently specializes in the development of biodiesel and ethanol plants throughout the US. Amelot’s objective is to establish relationships between various suppliers of alternative energy who are biodiesel and ethanol researchers or producers to further their ends with long-term profitability and growth in mind. Amelot furthers the cause of these alternative energy suppliers through the formulation of joint ventures, mergers, and construction contracts as suppliers of alternate energy.

Environmental Power is an alternative energy supplier that has two subsidiary companies. One of these is Microgy, which is Environmental Power’s research and development arm. Microgy is a developer of biogas facilities for the cost-effective and environmentally clean production of renewable energy derived from food and agricultural waste products.

These biogas fuels can be used in a number of different applications. They can be used in combustion chamber engines, used directly to make fossil fuel reliance less of a need, or cleaned up to meet natural gas standards and then piped to offices or homes for heating.

Electricity Conservation At Home

April 20th, 2010 by author

About Electricity Conservation

Much of the focus on the energy crisis in America has been upon the cars we drive, and with good reason. Cars burn fossil fuels, creating smog consisting of greenhouse gasses, which then traps the heat of the sun and warms the environment. This causes global warming, which is a very real threat to our continued well-being as a species.

But you shouldn’t just focus on your car. Electricity conservation at home can help play a part in the energy crisis, and electricity conservation can also put a few bucks in your pocket at the end of every month.

Pool Solar Panel Can Save You Thousands

March 20th, 2010 by author

There are various types of solar pool heater panels. A very popular type of pool solar panel is basically a flat plate solar collector. It works by circulating cold water from the pool filter or the supplemental pump, through the panels, and finally back into the pool where it returns the warmed up water.

A pool heating system powered by pool solar panels will allow you to enjoy your pool the same as any normal heating system. But the amount that you pay for heating costs per year could be cut dramatically. In most cases a home owner would recover his initial installation costs over a three to five year period. For owners of hotels or motels, however, they could conceivably recoup their costs in a much shorter period of time.

Save on electric bill with a free energy device

February 25th, 2010 by author

There has been much debate about what is often called “free” energy – energy that can supposedly, with the right technology, be drawn straight out of the atmosphere, and in very abundant supply. The debates are about whether the stuff actually exists or not, what it would actually cost were it to be harnessed, and if it does exist is it truly as abundant and efficient as it’s being made out to be by proponents of research and development into this potential alternative energy source.

When one hears the phrase “free energy device”, one might be hearing about one of several different concepts. This might mean a device for collecting and transmitting energy from some source that orthodox science does not recognize; a device which collects energy at absolutely no cost; or an example of the legendary perpetual motion machine. Needless to say, a perpetual motion machine-a machine which drives itself, forever, once turned on, therefore needing no energy input ever again and never running out of energy-is impossible.

Are we not sick of paying our recurring electricity bills month on month and save on electric bill. There is an alternative solution that will set us free forever, yes for lifetime. If any of these following mentioned factors suit us,

Do we live in a semi urban place having access to one acre or more (4000 sq m) land, as a part of our home, ranch, farmhouse or field or our community area exceeds one acre. Better if we are remotely located. Yes. We are aware of the expense and the difficulty involved in getting the power cable to our home via difficult terrain. Do we want to be free of recurring cycle of electricity bill payments. Instead would we want the service provider to pay us for giving back some energy back to them and thats how to save on electric bill.

Yes again this practice is much prevalent and is completely legalized with proper agreement between the individual and the regional electricity boards.

Solar Powered Generators

February 24th, 2010 by author

For the past decade, green energy has been becoming more and more popular. One of the ways of taking advantage of the trend is to switch to solar powered generators instead of ones that run on fossil fuels.

A 400 w solar power generator can generate electricity from sunlight; it has a battery bank to store the solar energy. It also has an inverter to convert DC to AC electricity so that it can be utilized. If this power generator is mounted on a trailer, the cost of operation and maintenance is quite low.

There is also a wireless solar power system which is 400w. It is like an inverter and can supply a good amount of electricity to any machine when there is a failure of electrical power. If it is used with wireless transmitters, it creates its own video surveillance system for remote video monitoring.

Solar Powered Cars and Alternative Energy

December 28th, 2009 by author

Solar powered cars will get here eventually. In the 1990’s, emissions laws were being enforced throughout the United States. Many colleges and universities began looking at the possibility of solar powered cars. The finding were that the solar collectors for the cars to run were too large to be put into the vehicles. Development continues on the solar collections to make it possible. For those skeptical, don’t be surprised if it doesn’t all come together in the near future. There are many organizations throughout the world working on doing just that.

Students are aware that using fossil fuels for cars has a negative impact on the environment. Students investigate the amount of pollution a car creates. Students have the opportunity to work together with their research and other students to investigate how to use solar energy for cars. They research the challenges involved and work to find solutions.

For the past 20 years, Panasonic has offered the Panasonic World Solar Challenge. More than three hundred teams from around the world have brought their car to the event. Many find developing solar powered cars to be the challenge of a lifetime. They continue to find ways to get one step closer to being successful.

Alternative energy is any kind of energy that is not oil or hydrocarbon based. Not all alternative energy is renewable but there are a lot of renewable energy sources we could be using. Some forms of alternative energy are even good for the environment and it’s these renewable energy sources we really need to be looking at.

We can’t keep paying the amounts we do, to other countries, to import oil. It’s imperative for our own national security that we develop alternative sources that can supply our needs and it’s also imperative that it be done very quickly. I have no confidence that the govt will be helpful in creating an energy policy that leads us to energy independence.

There is a lot of energy that we can harness if we only seek to research and develop the technologies needed to do so. We can get away from the fossil fuels and the old electrical grids by turning to alternatives to these energy sources.

Alternative Energy Resources

December 8th, 2009 by author

You know as well as I do that all the batteries you ever buy are going to fail and have to be replaced. Replacement batteries are big business and you can save a little money sometimes but for the most part batteries are expensive. So would you be interested in some tips, tricks and techniques to improve battery life and save money. Read on if you are.

All batteries will fail at some point, when they have been in use for longer periods of time. But premature battery failure is one of the main frustrations people face.

Common thinking is that turning devices off extends battery life, but what happens is the opposite. Devices consume more power when they are starting up, so turning them off is not such a good idea if they are going to be switched on frequently.

There are many different forms in which Alternative Energy Resources are available.

One of these is Solar Power. Solar power is driven by photovoltaic cells, and these are progressively getting less expensive and more advanced. Solar energy power can be used for electricity, heating, and making hot water. Solar energy produces no pollution, as its input comes completely from the sun’s rays. However, much more work still needs to be done in order for us to economically harness the sun’s energy. For the time being, the resource is a little too conditional, as storage batteries are needed to be used as backups in the evenings and on inclement days.

Wind Energy has become the most-invested-in (by private investors and governments together) alternative energy source for the time being. The great arrays of triple-bladed windmills are being placed all over as wind farms, to capture the motion of the wind and use its kinetic energy for conversion to mechanical or electrical energy. Of course, there is nothing new about the concept of a windmill for harnessing energy. Modern wind turbines are simply more advanced variations on the old theme. Of course, the drawback to wind energy is…what do you do when there is a calm, still day? Needless to say, during these times you can use the electric company for powering your home or office, or do the same as the solar in using storage batteries as backup.

There are many solutions to produce renewable energy.

However, most of the products are not designed to produce the electricity needed for home supply. They cost fortunes and are only usable in the corporate world.

Some companies have developed products for generating home wind power or solar power, but they cost $1,000s for only one product. And this doesn’t even include installation.

Luckily this is where we come in. Home-Made-Energy will teach you everything you need to have your own solar or wind power system for $200 or even less.

Countless of tests have been made insure that these are the most effective methods for producing heaps of energy.

Home-Made-Energy developed the plans and wrote professional instructions for the “average Joe”, with plain English words. Anyone can understand and use them. (Even a 15-year-old kid!).

And before releasing them in a guide, many test subjects were used to see if all of them can succeed in generating enough electricity to power their home. You can read more articles on this subject and learn how actually generate soar energy from home by visiting our website at My Home Made Solar Power.

How You Can Make Your Own Solar Energy

June 3rd, 2009 by author

While we are consuming fossil fuel faster than further supplies can be discovered, the most sensible thing is to make use of the most plentiful energy source available for free-solar energy. Solar is a renewable energy source that has yet to be fully taken advantage of by many other nations which makes it very viable for the future. You can create this energy when you make a solar panel you install on your roof so it can capture as many solar rays as possible and then convert them into electricity. You can plan on using 10 to 12 solar panels to generate a kilowatt of power. Check out make a solar panel for more help with setting up your alternative solar power project.

The Pathfinder Tells You How Much Sun You Get

May 24th, 2009 by author

Even the smallest amount of shading on a solar panel can cut its power output considerably. This means you’ll want to know about any shading issues throughout the year before you decide where to put your shiny new solar panels.
One way of doing this would be to take a year off work, set up a lawn chair, and stare at your potential solar panel site for twelve months…
Another way is to try the Pathfinder

Tow That Solar Power In a Trailer

Gasoline and diesel engines are noisy. Even the quietest units can spoil a wedding ceremony. This is an obvious advantage of the AMP System. In addition, generators are terribly inefficient, burning fossil fuels even when running at idle. Most of the fuel burned is lost as heat generated by the engine. The AMP System is an eco-friendly alternative.

Why Go Solar?

May 22nd, 2009 by author

Solar Energy Advantages:

* The sun doesn’t cause any pollution

* Solar energy is renewable so it won’t run out (well, it will eventually but we’ll have bigger worries then, i.e. the sun burning out)

* It can be used anywhere the sun shines

* It’s a gift that keeps on giving: Solar panels can last twenty five years or more

* Low maintenance costs: Only periodic inspection and occasional maintenance is required

* Peace and quiet: Photovoltaic panels are silent (unlike a gas powered generator!)

Where is Solar Power Going?

May 22nd, 2009 by author

This is an exciting time to be involved with solar power. Due to a number of factors including fuel prices, economies of scale, and a renewed interest in self-sustainability, solar power is exploding.

Here are some of the things we have to look forward to with the future of solar power:

Passive Solar?

May 22nd, 2009 by author

It just means using part of your home to collect the sun’s energy. Not surprisingly, passive solar is the first stop in our journey into the history of solar power.

Archaeological evidence shows that the ancient Greeks were building their homes in grid patterns to utilize the heat and light of the sun in the fifth century BC.

Solar Power and You

Solar panels use the sun’s light to get electrons moving through a wire and into your toaster where they’re put to work toasting your sesame seed bagel.

Sounds delicious, doesn’t it?

There are hundreds of ways that solar power can save you money and make your life easier. From heating your water to cooking your food, find out what sort of things the sun can do for you.

Solar Panels: How Much $$$

May 8th, 2009 by author

So let’s assume we’re talking about a batteryless grid-tied system. Before incentives, you’re going to be paying about $7 – $9 per installed watt.

That means if you want a 5000 watt system it’s going to run you $35000 to $45000. Of course, incentives should get a big chunk of that amount back into your bank account. For instance, a 30% tax credit is offered by the federal government.

Just How Does That Solar Panel Work?

May 8th, 2009 by author

Solar panels are made out of semiconductor materials like silicon (the same stuff that’s in your computer). This semiconductor material is treated so it’s positively charged on one side and negatively charged on the other.

When light energy strikes this “solar cell”, electrons are knocked loose from the semiconductor material. These electrons can be captured in the form of an electric current if electrical conductors are attached to the positive and negative sides of the solar cell.

This electric current (i.e. “electricity”) can then be used to toast your bagel or play your Glen Campbell CD’s (No, I’m not judging your taste in music).

Solar Panel History: More Exciting Than You Think

May 8th, 2009 by author

The selenium solar cells were revolutionary but they were not efficient enough to power electrical equipment. That wouldn’t occur until 1953 when Bell Laboratories employee Gerald Pearson made a solar cell with silicon instead of selenium. The solar cell was finally ready to be put to work.

Unfortunately the solar cell was put to work powering toy subs and model airplanes because any major use of the technology was seen as being prohibitively expensive. How expensive? About $300 per watt (a power plant cost 50¢ a watt to build).

Could this be the end for our hero the solar cell? Is it doomed by its hefty price tag?

Nope.

Sunlight is converted into electricity through photovoltaic (PV) technology. The simple explanation of this is that the sun’s light interacts with semiconductor materials in the PV cells and frees electrons which produces an electric current.

Solar Power: The Good and the Bad

May 8th, 2009 by author

Solar Energy Disadvantages:

* Initial cost: Solar power systems (especially solar electric) can be expensive. The prices are coming down, however, and doing it yourself can limit costs

* The sun doesn’t shine at night (I spent a week of research on this one)

* Storing electricity in batteries can increase a solar power system’s size, complexity, and cost

Solar Energy Could Be Your Ticket

May 4th, 2009 by author

More people than ever are investigating what solar energy offers. Every day the sun sends down a massive amount of untapped energy in the form of light and heat. Use of this energy doesn’t require cleaning up any ashes or disposing of radioactive residue. With no burning of “fossil fuels” there is no adding of CO2 back into the atmosphere. And there’s no delivery charge.

If your goal is electricity then there will be a first time cost for installing solar arrays. What you need to remember is that power generation is dependent on square feet, more square feet equals more power. You can figure that 100 square feet of arrays will give you about one kilowatt (kW) of power. You should consider the solar energy alternative if your electric bill is at least $150 per month. Make sure your area gets lots of sunshine that isn’t blocked by towering trees and other obstructions. Check with build your own solar cell arrays for further help.

Solar Panels Vs. Solar Shingles

May 4th, 2009 by author

Solar shingles are pretty much exactly what they sound like: Shingles that also act as solar panels. If you like more complicated names, they are also known as building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPVs).

They make sense because your roof is up there basking in the sun all day anyway, so why not put it to work making some electricity.

Thinking of Installing Solar Panels?

May 4th, 2009 by author

If you’ve done your research and decided to go with a solar electric system, one of the things you’ll have to start thinking about is the installation of those shiny solar panels.

The major decision you’ll have to make is whether you will be installing the panels yourself or hiring someone for the job.

You’ll only want to attempt the installation yourself if you’re quite handy, comfortable on a roof, and have done some wiring. Even then, here are some things to keep in mind:

How Efficient Are Your Solar Panels?

May 4th, 2009 by author

If we’re trying to judge solar panel efficiency we should probably know what “efficiency” means?

Module efficiency refers to the ratio of output power to input power. In other words: How much electricity can a solar panel produce from a certain amount of sunlight.

So if a solar panel creates a hundred watts of power from a thousand watts of sunlight, it has an efficiency of 10%.

How Much Will Solar Panels Set You Back?

May 4th, 2009 by author

How much will solar panels cost?

What a question.

I know you see the frustrating answer coming from a mile away:

“It depends”.

Here are some of the variables:

* grid-tie system or batteries?
* reducing your electric bill or eliminating it?
* how much sun do you get?
* how much power do you use?
* what incentives are available in your area?
* what color is your hair?

Alright, that last one was just to see if you were still paying attention.

Cleaner Electric Energy?

Cleaner Electric Energy?

When I drive up to see my mother in law, there is a new sight on the
horizon. There are huge wind turbines going up in an area that those of
us in the area know is a very windy space.

This is probably the reason why that site was chosen for this type of
endeavor. I remarked to my husband that it was almost as if we are
going back in time when it comes to electric energy. It is finally
clear that we need cleaner ways to produce at least some of the
electric that we use each day in this country. You can make a
difference in your choices as well.
I got a mailer from the supplier of my electric energy asking me where
I would like to get my power from. I thought this was very interesting.
I could choose what source (as in power plant, wind turbine, or even
hydroelectric power) for at least half of my electrical use. I could go
with green sources, or I could go by price. The neat thing was that the
choices for electric energy that were environmentally friendly were
also the ones that were cheaper, or were at the very least, on par in
price with the traditional options. This may be an option for your
electric energy where you live, even if you don’t know it. If you have
seen turbines going up in your area, this may be indeed an option that
you have in the future if you don’t have it already. There may also be
a renewed interest in finding sources of hydroelectric power in some
areas where turbines are not practical.

Some areas are working on solar power, and this is something you can
use in your own home for your electrical power if you so choose.
If you aren’t sure what is going on with your local electric energy
supplier, call them up and ask. You may have gotten the information in
the mail, but then threw it away thinking it was an advertisement or
something else you didn’t care to open. If you call them, they can tell
you if you have choices, and when you can sign up for them. If they
don’t yet have any alternative means for producing electric energy, you
can then tell them that you hope they will be doing something like this
in the future.
