7 Ways to Make Guests Feel Home for the Holidays

It’s that season of the year when you meet up with your near and dear ones to spend some quality time and make lifetime memories. If you are hosting the guests this year at your place, you definitely would want to make them feel welcomed and comfortable. It’s important to carefully prepare your guest room so that their needs are met, and yet your place exudes charm. Here are 7 ways in which you can make your home, or the guest room a home away from home for them.

1. Invest in a good bed

A well-rested person is always happy, and vibrant. So investing in a good, sturdy, functional bed for the guests is of utmost importance. Place a comfortable mattress and use clean, fresh sheets to give the room an instantly relaxed aura.

2. Add a side table

Adding a side table or a couple of floating shelves at the bedside, is a great way to help your guests place their gadgets like their mobiles, earphones, remotes, and even a small bed lamp.

3. Create enough storage space

Give your guests enough space in their room to unpack their bags and tidily place their clothes and other belongings. A built-in closet is a good idea in a guest room because it doesn’t take up too much space, yet gives you the storage functionality.

4. Pay attention to the dining area

The dining room is the place where everyone gets together to share a burst of hearty laughter over a meal. It is a good idea to invest in a  6 seater or an 8 seater wooden dining table to create enough space for everyone to sit down and enjoy tasty delicacies.

5. Adequate stock-up

The last thing you want is to have your guests or you run to the nearest store to buy toothpaste, medicines, or something to munch on. Stock up enough toiletries, snacks, medicines, and frozen food in the fridge to make it convenient for the guests.

6. Create a reading corner

A lot of us like to sit down with our morning cup of coffee and read a newspaper, so creating a cozy reading corner is a good idea for your family and your guests. You can easily do this by picking a quiet place, preferably beside a window, then place a bookshelf to hold newspapers, magazines, books, and add a couple of comfortable chairs and a center table, and your reading corner is ready.

7. Have a plan in place

When you have guests over, it’s a good idea to plan as to what places you would like to show them around, rather than deciding at the last moment. List out the activities that you would like to do with them to make their stay as fun as possible.

We hope the above pointers help you in creating a welcoming space for your family and friends this season.
