Having Fun While Alpine Skiing
September 1st, 2010 by craigkantEven though the sport of skiing is fast being overtaken by snowboarding as the supreme extreme winter sport, there are still hundreds of thousands of people who look forward to hitting the ski slopes as winter approaches. The most popular type of skiing is alpine or downhill skiing.
Alpine skiing can be as mild or extreme as you want. For example, some hills are rather small while others are, in reality, like small mountains. Most people who are new to alpine skiing will prefer the beginner’s slopes (small hills) just to get comfortable with sliding down the hill and learning how to stop.
More practiced skiers will head for the longer, steeper hills or mountains which likely will bring more of a challenge in avoiding huge rocks, dips and other things in their path. All alpine skiers agree that the sensation of skiing down a hill or mountain is quite a rush and they enjoy the adrenaline pumping through them when they do.
