The Best Way To Stop Dog Jumping

January 10th, 2009 by Ned D'Agostino

In order to stop dog jumping you not only need to train your dog, you need to train yourself. There are times when undoubtedly you like it when you walk in the door and your dog is waiting to greet you. He’s happy to see you so he jumps up and maybe rests his paws on your chest (depending on the size of your pet). Then there are other times when you simply don’t want this. You just want to get where you need to go and not be bothered, so you may push the dog away. This confuses your pet. You need to train him to stop this behavior not only for your benefit, but for the benefit of your guests who may not like this behavior at all.
