How to improve sales with effective search engine optimization
January 24th, 2010 by Master MindAnyone who has been selling anything online for more than a couple of days knows that you have to have traffic to your site. The more surfers you can get to your site the more sales you can make. There are some way to tweak even a successful site to get more sales from the same amount of visitors.
The first thing you should be doing is talking to your visitors directly, just as if they are sitting in the same room with you. Most people hate to buy from total strangers and some have a fear of buying on the web but they will buy what their friends recommend to them. Convince your visitors that you are a friend who has their best interests in mind they will be more likely to buy your products. Don’t talk to every visitor to your site, just talk to one of them and you will learn how to improve sales..
The second thing you should be doing is to put up testimonials and comments you receive from your customers. I’m not so sure that most people believe these as they are to easy to fake but one way is to put in a lot of good ones and a minor bad one or two. Then they will be more likely to believe the testimonials are real and they will have the faith to buy from you. People follow a sheep mentality, when others have bought from you and are happy others will be more willing to buy from you also.
Targeted web site traffic is what you get if you have effective search engine optimization for your web site. Want proof? What terms did you enter at the search engine to get to this page? I’d bet it had something to do with web site traffic or search engine optimization. If not you probably don’t belong here and definitely are not targeted web site traffic. However 95% of arrived as highly targeted traffic.
Effective search engine optimization will bring you target traffic. Of course how much traffic you get depends on how high you are ranked. I would expect good optimization to get you one the first page. Great optimization should get your web site at least a #5 and truly expert would get you to 1-3. The number 1 position gets 40% of all search traffic as a general rule.
You’ve probably heard horror stories about how hard it is to optimize for search engines and get rankings high enough to generate decent amounts of traffic. Lol, I always find those stories amusing and you certainly here them a lot from the guru’s. Of course that’s a guru’s business isn’t it. Getting you to buy an optimization product is his goal. He can’t sell you anything if he tells you it’s easy.
