These flashy effects are often more expensive on average, but the extra attention can lead to better chances in making business contacts, repeat customers, or even new clients. Thus, the extra cost is often worth it in the long run. Business card designers are now resorting to distorting the common rectangle shape of business cards. Adding grooves, inset bevels, or even making entirely different shapes with business cards always warrants extra attention from the recipient. Although this is a nice touch, it is often unnecessary and will always cost more on average than the normal business card most are accustomed to.
