Placement of Tube Bird Feeders

May 20th, 2010 by craigkant

A question that many people have when they buy a bird feeder is where exactly they should place it. There are various arguments for placing it near the ground, or high above the ground, or near the trees, or away from the trees. What is the best placement for a bird feeder?

Since bird feeders are relatively inexpensive, one good idea is to have multiple tube bird feeders which you locate at opposite ends of the garden. This, in effect give you multiple feeding zones. The advantage of this is that some bird are more aggressive than others or more territorial. Two or more zones allow the birds to eat at the bird feeding station which provides them the most comfort and peace of mind.
