Learning Care Of Orchids

September 24th, 2007 by Annie

While sometimes challenging, taking care of orchids can be rewarding, and it really isn’t that difficult If you want the thrill of growing of these wonderful flowers, then consider the humidity and light requirements for the species you want. Many can grow in any home. In fact, some species are as easy to care for as your standard African Violet!
The crucial thing is the humidity, but don’t let that scare you into thinking you have to have a hothouse built. You can grow them in any room, but make sure the area near the plant is humid. How much humidity do they need? It depends on the species, but look for between 40 and 70 percent

Orchids also should have the right levels of light. Most do good with a regular level of light but you might have to provide alternate lighting if your plant isn’t getting enough.
