Some people prefer to have birds as pets over other animals. They prefer then because they are of lower maintenance then dogs and cats, and they are drawn to the beauty of their singing, plumage, and the way they flutter about.

Birds for pets are also great conversation starters. Since it is a less common pet, people are always interested in hearing about your bird, or better yet visiting you home to see it.

However, birds are not for everyone, and do not come without negative aspects as well. They may escape, and can be almost impossible to get back. They can also make a lot of noise, which for some simply isn’t tolerable.

For bird owners though, the positives almost always outweigh the negatives, making happy couples with their flying friend.
