Pagodone – Can It Really Stop People From Stuttering

It seems that while testing the anti anxiety drug Pagodone, for its help in relieving anxiety, the discovery was also made that it seems to help calm down the brain in those who have a problem with stuttering.
Stuttering is a speech disorder in which the normal flow of speech is disrupted by frequent repetitions or prolongations of speech sounds, syllables or words or by an individual’s inability to start a word.
Indevus Pharmaceuticals has just completed a study to determine the effects of pagoclone on the symptoms of Persistent Developmental Stuttering
Many people who stutter have had promising results taking pagoclone. The studies also show that while Pagoclone can reduce stuttering significantly, it does not stop it altogether. Although more testing is needed, this is a promising avenue for researchers to continue down in their search for curing people of stuttering.
