Giving birth to a child is one of the biggest wonders of life, and few things can beat the feeling of seeing your new born baby for the first time. But before you get this stage in your journey, you will go through the three pregnancy trimesters, each known for having it’s own ups and downs. What to expect during pregnancy can be summerized as follows.

The first trimester starts after you conceive and is best known for being the period when the woman experiences morning sickness. The name implies that this is a sickness where the symptoms occur in the morning, but that isn’t really true. First trimester nausea can happen at any time during the day. The good news is that not all women have strong symptoms of nausea, but the bad news is that most women do. In this trimester you might also feel that your breasts get bigger, num, or swollen. Food cravings also start to occur during this trimester, so are food and odor aversions.

When you hit the second trimester, many of the symptoms up until now will most likely have faded. Gone is the nausea, which has been replaced by a heightened feeling of strength and energy. You will probably also have a bigger appetite, as you are now eating for two. This is also the trimester where you probably will feel your baby in your tummy for the first time, which can be very exciting.

The final trimester is where the most growth happens, and the worst symptoms occur. As your tummy grows big you might have problems sleeping. Back aches and crams may also occur, as your body prepares itself for labor. In the third trimester of pregnancy it is a good idea to get as much rest as possible, and try to make your day to day life as pleasant as you can. Soon you will be accompanied by a new person in your life, and you need all the strength you can to take care of him or her.
