Plasma TV Reliability Is No Longer An Issue

If you are purchasing a new plasma television, you undoubtedly will be asked whether or not you want to purchase and extended warranty. The answer simply depends on a number of factors. Plasma TV reliability is good, and maintenance problems are rare. And in fact most problems do occur outside of the normal warranty period.

But think about the bulb in the television. It will last for about 5000 hours of viewing and will need to be replaced at that time. If you’ll be watching more than that during the initial warranty period, then yes, get the extended warranty. I will cover the bulb.
