Introducing LG’s New Blu-ray Players for 2010
February 4th, 2010 by netguyLG recently announced 3 brand new blu-ray players during the International CES 2010 in Las Vegas. The model nos are LG BD 550, LG BD 570 and LG BD 590. All of these players are all networked players which is designed with ease of connectivity in mind. LG is also the first in the industry to put a hard disk drive in a blu-ray player. The BD 590 has a 250GB hard disk on board which allows users to copy or download media so that it can be instantly accessible. LG has also tied up with content providers like Netflix and CinemaNow to facilitate streaming of the latest movies. These players are capable of decoding all the high resolution audio codecs such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master audio.
The Wi-Fi capable LG BD 570 is similar in features to the BD 590 except for the lack of an onboard hard disk. Incorporating LG’s NetCast Entertainment Access, the BD570 gives consumers convenient access to a wide choice of entertainment content options.
The entry level LG BD 550 has no wi-fi but it still takes full advantage of the Blu-ray format. It provides convenient access to BD Live, which offers a wide variety of content, such as movie scene extras, new previews and the ability to read synopses and rate movies. No pricing or release date has been announced but these players look poised to continue the success of LG’s highly successful BD390.
