When it comes to baby safety, stair cases normally cause the greatest risk to babies. As you will discover, if this is your first baby, parents are advised to install baby safety gates on both sides of the stair case in order to provide better safety for the baby. These baby safety gates should be at least thirty inches high to provide good protection. On the other hand, remember that babies like to stick their fingers in all kinds of holes. So, you need to cover up all of the power outlets that they can reach. Also, remember to try and hide as many of the power cords as possible because the babies like to pull on these cords. Some of these cords that they can pull might knock down a floor lamp or some other item.

Furthermore, you should make sure that there are no plastics around your baby in order to eliminate the possibility of suffocating or chocking. Also, keep all medicines, toxic chemicals, candy and dangerous small appliances away from your infant. Be sure and secure any pieces of furniture that might be able easily fall over.
