My brother-in-law has never been on a cruise before and is booking his first one. Since my wife and I cruise often, he’s been asking for my advice, so I thought I’d share it with everyone. Our favorite cruise was a Main River cruise we took in early summer last year. It was incredibly beautiful and we met so many nice people during the trip. The icing on the cake was how wonderful the experience on the boat was; the staff is very attentive, the food was delicious, and the ship itself was attractive. The brother-in-law hasn’t decided yet, but I vote Main River.

The new digital camera that my wife just bought is dictating our family vacation plans. She is determined that we go to a place with beautiful scenery so that she can get the most out of her new toy. So far, the only suggestion I’ve offered that she seems agreeable to is a Czech Republic river cruise. Because I’d actually like to book our tickets, I’ve been printing up information on the towns and castles and leaving the papers in strategic places all over the house. I think I’ve almost convinced her to make a commitment to go, but it might take a couple more references to the picturesque Krumlov castle and the unbelievable views along the river to seal the deal.

When you aware about gas mileage ratings, you can start to save money on fuel costs. This is because you will not carry unnecessary heavy load in your car and turn off the air conditioner to use up less gasoline. Even when you drive around, you will know the short cuts to reach your destination, thereby further reducing the petrol consumption. A gas mileage rating is a standard used by people worldwide to gauge the gasoline consumption of their cars for every mile they travel. Hence it pays to drive smaller and lighter cars to save money in the long run.

A work from home travel opportunity is making an impact on both the internet business world and the $7 trillion travel industry. Being the next Baby Boomer market this predominently wealthy generation is causing 3 major trends creating possibly the biggest market shift of our time.
- The Shift to the Internet - “Brick and mortar” travel agencies continue to decrease rapidly in favor of more efficient, economical and convenient internet booking engines. The Baby Boomers are definitely internet users, are comfortable buying online and when asked how they plan to spend their retirement they almost always respond with travel, travel, travel.
- Word of Mouth Marketing - 80% of all vacations are estimated as being from a referal. When you come back from vacation the first thing you want to do is tell everyone about it proving that word of mouth works. Now you can get paid for it!
- Home Based Business - Home based businesses are the future. The government continues to setup many tax advantages and programs to promote this trend as families begin to realize that they need to take their future in their own hands. With an unstable economy at best, a failing social security system and health care becoming completely unaffordable the time for a new way of thinking is here.
A new work from home travel opportunity is being named a source for a “recession-proof income” and just might be an answer for you.

I love cruising! I always get the most bang for my buck when I book a cruise instead of a typical landlubber vacation. My next cruise is an Asia river cruise down the Yangtze. I’ve booked this one for 16-days and can’t wait to get on the water. I’m especially excited about the terra cotta warriors in Xian. An exhibit came to the museum in Santa Ana but I never got a chance to go. Now, I’ll get to see the warriors AND the mausoleum itself. I even bought an extra memory card for my camera.

I think I’ve been just about everywhere there is to go in Europe, expect Poland…and Holland. I’m crossing one of those last two of the list this spring. I’m going on a Holland river cruise to see what Holland has to offer. I’m very interested in the canal tour in Amsterdam, as well as the Paleis Het Loo in Arnhem. Of course, I’ll be on the lookout for windmills and new dishes to make when I get back. Usually, my favorite part of traveling is bring back great recipes to try out at home. I’ve never had authentic Dutch food so this will be very interesting.

You could find yourself in some mishap that leaves you far from home with no money and unable to keep the reservation you already made with no refunds available and this is when it makes sense to purchase travel insurance. Most travel insurance will cover trip cancellation, trip interruption or delays, medical, dental, emergency medical transportation, lost luggage, accidental death, financial default of airlines, and cruise lines.
Sometimes a traveler must cancel their vacation and this could result in a traveler losing nonrefundable deposits and prepayments that add up to hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Trip cancellation should be a standard requirement of a travel insurance plan as it is the most common reason why a person does not go on their vacation. Continue reading about travel insurance

It’s up to everyone on the road to be more aware drivers and this could help cut down on traffic accidents.

My wife and I went on a Czech Republic river cruise a few months ago and I can’t begin to tell you what a worthwhile experience it was. We had the opportunity to visit 12 different locations (towns and cities alike) and see more sights than I would have thought possible on a 12-day trip. The value of what you get to do for the price is great. I calculated how much it would cost for us to take a trip like our cruise on our own and we essentially would have paid twice as much. My favorite stop was Litomerice, but that’s mainly because of the wine tasting, which was a great deal of fun.

I am finally cashing in on all of my vacation days and taking a month off to travel and relax (if possible). I’m trying to choose between taking a longer Hungary river cruise or one with a shorter length of time. Both sound wonderful, but I’m not a very good traveler and might be more comfortable on the 8 day option. On the other hand, I do have a full month and it would be really neat to be able to see so much of Hungary and Eastern Europe in one go. I don’t get to take time off very often so I’m inclined to make the most of it. Either way, I can’t wait to go on my cruise!

As many of you know when ever we decide to go to a theme park or a carnival it seems that every one else has had that same idea. By the time that we have arrived at the park there are long queues of people all with the same idea ? get in and have fun. So with nothing else to do we plant ourselves in one of the never ending ? or so it seems queues for theme park tickets.
Now we have finally gotten to the ticketing office and a year has already passed us by ? okay that was a little extreme. We may have been in the queue waiting our turn to buy theme park tickets for about an hour or two. Having arrived at the ticket booth we decide that we will be getting tickets for all of the theme park rides and attractions regardless of whether we are still alive at the end of the day.
So now that we have our theme park tickets in our sticky hands ? why sticky you may ask? Well in waiting to enter the park we had a light snack of delicious chocolates. Well back to our theme park tickets. Having bought our selection of theme park tickets we discover that we can use these tickets not only to get in the park but we can buy our food from the restaurants, fast food stands and concession stands as well.
So holding a very crumpled map of the theme park in our hands we head off for our first ride of the day.

As the population grows and the demand for vehicles rises, the amount of pollution in our atmosphere increases at a rapid pace. The cost of production of fossil fuels has swelled and some predict availability may be limited in the future. Cars using water gas power can save people thousands in fuel and maintenance costs as water is in ample supply and the steam produced by them will keep engines virtually self cleaning. For those who believe the planet will suffer from a water shortage, take into consideration that the steam emitted into the air by these cars will be condensed back into water vapor that will replenish our waterways. Oxygen released by condensation will also be released into the atmosphere and increase the oxygen levels that are being affected by greenhouse gases.

I actually watched a lot of the World Trade Center rebuilding via a Webcam that would broadcast the progress at all times.
It is amazing how quickly the gigantic disaster was cleaned up. Subways were rerouted, businesses were relocated, and soon everyone was going on almost as if nothing had happened. Yet there was, and still will always be, a huge hole in the New York City skyline. The World Trade Center memorial will remind us of this always. Even though the new World Trade Center will be a big, gorgeous building, it still will not replace the old one in the minds of New Yorkers.
