How Does Retinol Work

July 28th, 2008 by author

Let’s explore how Retinol works. The receptor sites in the skin cells react favorably towards retinoic acid. This helps the skin cells to work properly and continue to repair the damaged skin which is caused by the natural aging process. However, Retinol has to be broken down into retinoic acid before it can work in the cells.

Studies demonstrated that Retinol may increase the thickness of the skin by stimulating new collagen production, which is crucial in the attempt to fight against aging. With this, the skin becomes firmer and younger looking. Therefore, when looking for good quality skin care products that offer visible and long-lasting effects, look for Retinol as part of it’s essential ingredient.

July 15th, 2008 by author

Getting rid of acne and pimples is a good idea; no one wants them on their face and can be devastated every time they wake up and see one in the mirror. But better than getting rid of pimples and clearing up breakouts would be to prevent acne in the first place. It’s something like your body weight - losing weight is good if you’re overweight, but it’s a much better idea to keep yourself from having those extra pounds in the first place. So how do you prevent acne and are there any guarantees that you won’t break out ever again?

First, of course there are no guarantees that you won’t ever have a breakout, no matter what you do to prevent acne. Everyone’s body is imperfect and trying to keep it perfectly clean and blemish free is just going to result in frustration. Virtually everyone on the planet has had a pimple at one time or another, and it’s not the end of the world for anyone. But by following a simple skincare regimen and taking care of yourself overall, you can have much more success if you want to prevent acne and can the least amount of breakouts.

Being gentle when you clean your skin is important as many make the mistake of using products that are too harsh and of scrubbing too vigorously, thinking this will help to prevent acne.

Explaining Seborrheic Eczema

July 14th, 2008 by author

Seborrheic eczema may look like a case of dandruff on the scalp when it first appears. Seborrheic eczema most often appears in people between the ages of 20 to 40 with men most likely to develop seborrheic eczema than women. The condition can, usually, be controlled with the use of a medicated shampoo, but in the more extreme cases the disorder may progress.

As seborrheic eczema spreads it can appear as the dandruff is getting worse and getting thicker on the scalp, the skin underneath becomes red and irritated and hair loss can also occur in the areas affected, but will usually re-grow once the condition is brought under control.

Dremu Deception Review - Wrinkle Treatment Cream

July 10th, 2008 by author

This anti wrinkle cream review provides a snippet of the Dremu Deception review.

I don’t like the idea of putting parabens in the Dremu Deception cream. I understand that they can cause skin irritation. Maybe the manufacturer has its own reason for including them in their product.

The main focus of the Dremu Deception is the ability of the tiny silicon particles to refract light. Maybe this is the reason why emu oil is overlooked. In this case, you probably buy a wrinkle cream that actually reduce wrinkles on a long term basis. To summarize,, I think this wrinkle reducing cream does not remove wrinkles at all. It only conceals them up just like your face powder or foundation.

Does Dremu Deception really work? How does it work? What are the drawbacks with this skin care product? If you want a complete review, then check out Dremu Deception review.

Review on Natural Advantage

July 8th, 2008 by author

Dr. Zoe Diana Draleos commented in Cosmetic Dermatology (January 2005 issue) how formulation and concentration are the two things that determine the effectiveness of a wrinkle cream. Unfortunately, the manufacturer of Natural Advantage did not reveal their Retinol’s concentration level. Thereby, it makes it difficult to say that this product is a miracle.

Based on an independent study, 95% of women using the Natural Advantage system showed improvement within 14 days. After 8 weeks, continued results included reports of smaller-looking pores, silkier skin, diminished appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, brighter skin tone and color, and less visible age spots.

Cellulite Reduction Exercise: How To Exercise Right

May 30th, 2008 by author

When we speak of cellulite, women tend to shy away from this conversation. Although it is not life threatening but it has some negative effects on the physiology especially the self-confidence and self esteem. It is plain annoying to have these ugly lumps and bumps on areas such as thighs, legs, hips, and buttocks. Women who are victims of this unpleasant appearance use many brands of cellulite creams. But not of them deliver the promise as advertised. But what other solutions do you have?

Since cellulite is body fat, you can get rid of it with cellulite reduction exercise. Workouts develop strong muscles. This prevent the dimples from appearing on the skin. Dimples are formed because the muscles are not strong enough to support the skin.

For an effective result, you need to combine strength training and aerobic exercises. Not only will you develop lean muscles but at the same time, you increase your metabolism to burn more fat.

Some of you may want to exercise at home instead in the gym. Probably because you are too embarrassed to show your cellulites.

You should target the prone areas such as thighs, hips, waists, buttocks, and legs. Lunge, the squat, leg extension and the leg curl are great for building lower body strength.

You should get the best exercise program to get rid of these orange peels on your body. If you want to learn more about cellulite reduction exercise, check out this information on exercise for cellulite.

The Aloe Vera Plant For Poisin Ivy

May 19th, 2008 by author

Last summer I had a terrible case of poison ivy and tried everything in the pharmacy to soothe the itch. Luckily, I made a call to my mother who related the many uses of the aloe vera plant, and suggest that I try that on my skin.

Once my mother reminded me that the aloe vera plant offers many benefits, I visited a nearby nursery and bought one for myself. I decided to go with a big plant, which caused a conversation between me and another customer to be overheard by the owner of the nursery. When she saw my legs she told me to put the inside of banana peels on them and it would remove the pus. Next, I was to mix the aloe and the vitamin E and rub it into the skin. The poison ivy took a month to get better but left no marks whatsoever.

Aloe Vera also proves to offer health benefits outside of the skin category. Aloe Vera should be included in your daily health regimen whether you have a skin irritation or not!

Shea Butter as a moisturizer and emollient

May 13th, 2008 by author

The use of Shea Butter as a moisturizer and emollient

Shea butter is natural fat extracted from fruit of the shea tree. It is especially known for its cosmetic properties as a moisturizer and emollient. Shea butter is a popular ingredient in many products.

It is so safe that shea butter is edible. It can be consumed in foods and is also used in the manufacture of chocolate as a substitute for cocoa butter. The two kinds of shea butter available are unrefined certified organic and chemically refined. Unrefined shea butter is processed without chemicals. The chemically refined shea butter is bleached, heated, and solvent extracted using a petrol-chemical. Purist claim the chemically refined version lacks the healing properties found in unrefined organic shea butter.
