The chest is one of the favorite muscle groups to exercise for people into weight training. Exercises such as the bench press, incline press, and flye are important parts of any chest workout. Resolving Addictive Personality Disorder

December 25th, 2008 by author

When the psychiatrist told me that I had an Addictive Personality Disorder, I can’t say I was surprised. It was weird, but I had spent so much time denying things that, once I started to admit that I had a problem, my resolve cracked. I was ready to commit to treatments without a moment’s delay, and the shrink was all too happy to recommend a good treatment facility. Apparently, with severe addictive personality disorders, sometimes the best course of action is to isolate yourself from general society for a few weeks. They give you time to recuperate and reflect on the problems you have been facing. After that, you can gradually re-immerse yourself back into the normal wider community. An addictive personality disorder never goes away, but with counseling you can learn to control it. Nowadays, I know when I am about to do something stupid and succumb to my addictive personality. I’ve learned self-control, and that is worth a lot.

Does Acupuncture Help to Stop Smoking?

December 25th, 2008 by author

I have been through acupuncture treatments before, and I knew that they were very relaxing and mellow. I figure that at the very least I would have a relaxing time and, feel more refreshed than when I came in. Besides that, I could use any stop smoking help I could get. I was approaching 30 and I knew that, if you don’t quit before the age of 30, your risks of smoking related illness increase tremendously.

If you’re trying to quit and have the opportunity to try Acupuncture To Stop Smoking, I would highly recommend it. It really does cut down on the cravings noticeably. I think that for some people it might not be enough alone, but if you have the will power, it could reduce your cravings enough to really give you the edge you need.

Athletic Shoes For Different Kinds of Sports Does Matter

December 22nd, 2008 by author

I knew that running shoes were lighter than other kinds of athletic shoes, but that was about as deep as my analysis had gone. It is nice to wear them now that I am actually a runner. I can feel the way the padding really helps me get the most out of my run. It is designed to help me to direct the force of my steps forward while protecting me from foot shock and other problems runners have. I also really notice the lighter weight of my athletic shoes now that I have started to run seriously. It really does make a noticeable difference when you are on the track. I learned about the utility of basketball shoes the hard way, unfortunately.

Shiatsu is also used in massage therapy. In English, the word shiatsu means “finger therapy” and is considered to be a Japanese form of bodywork.

Similar to acupuncture, this type of massage therapy is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine because those who practice it believe that a person does not feel well due to imbalances in the life force.

Glucose Blood Test Is Helpful

November 25th, 2008 by author

A glucose blood test also called a blood sugar test measures how good the processing of glucose or better known as sugar is done by your body. There are some types of glucose blood tests that are employed to identify pre-diabetes or diabetes while there is a glucose blood test that helps determine if diabetes management is going well. The glucose blood test used to measure the number of sugar in the blood after fasting at least eight hours or overnight is called fasting glucose blood test. For a normal fasting glucose blood test, the result is lower than 100mg of glucose per deciliter of blood (mg/dL).
You are considered pre-diabetic if your fasting blood sugar level is between 100 mg/dL and 125 mg/dL. This is also called impaired fasting glucose. For verification of the diagnosis, your doctor would have to repeat the glucose blood test after several days to at least a week. If your fasting blood sugar level reaches 125 mg/dL, it may already be classified as Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. It may also be accompanied by symptoms like extreme thirst or hunger, frequent urination and blurry vision.

Hiking Shoes And Finding The Right Ones For Your Needs

November 25th, 2008 by author

If you are one of those people who love the outdoors then you inevitably end up going on a hike now and again. This is something that is very good for the body, and also very good for the soul. It can also be hard on the body, especially if you aren’t used to the activity level and if you aren’t wearing the right kind of hiking shoes. When you are going for a long hike, or even a long walk, you have to have the right kind of hiking shoes or your feet will never forgive you. And ultimately this could make the difference between a pleasant hike and giving up even before you have started.
If you skip the hiking shoes and wear sneakers, you might be okay for a while. Once you have gone more than a few miles however, your feet are going to be hurting. Not only that, you may find that your ankles hurt too, or even worse, you may easily twist an ankle if you step the wrong way. Hiking is usually done on uneven ground, and unlike sneakers, hiking shoes are made to help keep your feet as comfortable and as stable as they can be under those circumstances. When buying hiking shoes, there are many places to go and many brands from which to choose. Some cost more than others, and the cost might represent how well they will cushion and protect your feet.

Blood Sugar Level Chart Is So Helpful

November 19th, 2008 by author

Monitoring your blood sugar levels is very important and one the best ways of this is to keep a blood sugar level chart. When you are affected with hypoglycemia or diabetes, it is always advised that you regularly monitor your blood sugar level. This would help you find out if you have met the required sugar level you have to maintain - and you will be able to determine the causes on the increase and decrease of your blood sugar. Frequent testing would also reduce the risk of having complications from your hypoglycemia or diabetes.
One of the best ways to keep track of your blood sugar level is by preparing a blood sugar level chart. It is a daily monitoring chart that you will have to prepare every week. With this chart, you need to log on your food intakes, carbohydrates counts, activities, blood sugar count and insulin doses. You also need to note down your comments on your medications, stress and emotions. It would be helpful if you record more information in your blood sugar level chart that you think can probably affect the rise and fall of your blood glucose level.

Deciding Which Pedometer to Buy

November 14th, 2008 by author

One of the best pedometers on the market today is the HJ 112 from Omron. It manages to combine features, price and usability into a package that will be suitable for just about anyone.

I don’t know how it manages it, but this pedometer somehow keeps an accurate record of your steps, distance and calories, even though you keep it in your pocket! The manual mentions something about dual sensor technology, but that’s a bit technical for me.

It’s got a lovely big display that is really easy to read, with buttons that aren’t fiddly, which makes a nice change on something this small. If you do happen to want to fix it to your belt, it comes with a detachable holder and also a strong security strap which you fix around your wrist.

It’s supposed to last up to 6 months using the replaceable lithum battery, which with an average of 10,000 steps per day works out as a lot of walking!

I must admit I found this to be a brilliant pedometer. I did look at other models, but when I compared the price, features and ease of use, I personally thought this one came out the winner. The HJ 112 and the HJ 720ITC are both new type pedometers that you can keep in your pocket, and to be honest the only reason I picked the HJ 112 was because I didn’t have any need for the software that comes with the 720 ITC.

By the way, you might be wondering if you can use this pedometer for jogging. Well, you can. In fact that’s what I use it for. Ok, so I didn’t know I was going to be jogging when I bought it, but after a few weeks of regular walking, it’s amazing how much fitter you will feel.

I have a little circuit that I take, but after a month or two I started jogging for small distances and then walking again, but now I jog for almost the whole time. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have done that without the HJ 112.

If you’re looking for a pedometer that will last you a good few months, and you don’t need any of the bells and whistles such as management software, then the Omron digital pedometer model HJ 112 is exactly the right one for you and I recommend it highly.

If you’re not the person doing the walking and you’re considering buying a pedometer for someone else, the HJ 112 makes an ideal choice. It’s got everything you need to keep track of your activity but is really easy to use.

Not only that, in addition to it being a pretty cool gadget it’s also a very practical gift that will help keep them healthy and fit. I think that’s a great way of showing someone you really care about them.
