Seafood Corporate Gifts Give A Great Impression

August 27th, 2008 by author

The giving of a gift is a tradition that mankind has held for centuries. It is an excellent way to show a person that you value their support and contribution, either in your business or personal life. Gifts are usually exchanged on big holidays such as Christmas and Valentine’s Day, as well as for birthdays and anniversaries.

Nowadays, it has become a practice for companies to bestow gifts upon their employees for a number of occasions such as holidays, excellent job performance, promotions, years of service, or attainment of business goals. Seafood Accessories as gifts are an original and excellent idea as it varies from the traditional corporate gift.

In recent times, giving seafood as corporate gifts is becoming a world-wide trend. Major companies seek out seafood accessories such as lobster sets, oyster knives, seafood forks, fishing gear, and fish grills. Everyone can use such gifts in their kitchens at home. Also, these gifts can contribute to the fun of a day spent outdoors fishing.

All employees - regardless of the particular organisation - would like their employer to recognize their hard work in some special ways. When employees are well appreciated, they identify themselves as an important asset of the company and their loyalty towards the organization increases. To appreciate their contribution, companies can come up with creative gift ideas using Seafood accessories.

One idea would be to emboss the gift with the company logo, and a message of appreciation for the employees accomplishments. Providing these details on the corporate seafood gift really adds alot of value to the award. It not only represents how happy and proud the company is of their employees but also provides a great motivational tool for others. When other employees see this award either on the desk or hanging on the wall they will want to know more about it, especially what it took to win such a great item.

The most dreaded and common conundrum for corporate gift givers is trying to please everyone. Personal gifts that cater to each employee’s interests are best, but highly unrealistic. Instead, a better option is to give a seafood gift certificate. Not only are they are easier to wrap and present than actual seafood, but their generality will appeal to a wider audience. Also, employers will like the gift certificate’s flexibility, since they are offered in different values to suite various circumstances.

Seafood gift certificates for your employees can accomplish plenty for a tad bit of money. They can increase team spirit as well as a strong and lasting bonding experience. Having a company fish fry, to having a seafood dinner for your family and friends. Seafood gift certificates can go along way in making your employees feel valued, appreciated and respected for a job well done.

Being the winner of the corporate sales contest and winning a special seafood corporate gift is an honor not bestowed on many. When you are the top dog, everyone knows about it! When the rest of the office sees how large a jumbo lobster can be, they will definitely be telling stories about it. The fact that this type of award is best when given at a company function, full of all the other employees, ensures that everyone will be talking about you for awhile to come.

One thing to always remember is that even though you won the award, it is the journey that got you there that counts. Being the top performer in a company does not happen overnight! It takes hours and hours of dedication, commitment to the company as well as to the position in which you hold. Anyone can just show up to work every day, it takes a true hero to win a company achievement award.

Have Your Own Connecticut Clambakes

August 21st, 2008 by author

Traditional Connecticut clambakes aren’t just a meal, it’s an event - a social gathering that doubles as a very popular and delicious way to feed many guests, whether it be a wedding party, a corporate event, a family reunion or simply a romantic evening for two.

The hands-on eating lends itself to a casual atmosphere which makes it a terrific icebreaker when meeting new people. Plainly put, clambakes are fun! And with summer’s approach, it is the perfect moment to get the water boiling.

Traditionally, clambakes were prepared over a fire on the beach. But since beach fires are now prohibited, today’s clambakes are usually cooked over a propane burner which is undeniably more efficient. Though it’s quite the modern method, the traditional atmosphere still exists.

Clambake recipes may contain various foods. While some people may want to start off with quahogs (hard shelled clams), others prefer steamers (soft shelled clams) dipped in butter with a salty broth. Hosts can even serve shrimp, clam chowder and mussels. Some of the more traditional accompaniments include corn on the cob, salads, potatoes, slaws, and cornbread. How about having ice cream for dessert? With so many options to have your clambake as delicious and unique as possible, never forget to include Lobster Bisque, which is of course, the main dish.

Now, if you really want to follow the original clambake cooking process, you’ll have to find a spot on the beach where you can dig a pit which is two or three feet deep. Then line it with rocks and build a huge fire on top of these rocks that would reach 400 degrees F. Line the hot rocks with wet seaweed, layer with potatoes, corn in the husk, and more seaweed. Cover the pit with a tarpaulin which is weighted down with rocks, and let it to steam for three hours.

A simpler method would have the shellfish and accompaniments steamed on a stovetop. You can also opt to place rocks in a large metal washtub across a couple of stovetop burners. Then layer it with clams and seaweed before pouring in a couple of gallons of seawater. Wait until it boils and then steam it for about twenty minutes to get the distinct clambake flavor.

But if you have neither seawater nor seaweed, you can have a clambake on a rack over hot coals on your grill. It helps to parboil potatoes and Fresh Lobster first, because they take longest to cook, but the corn and clams will cook thoroughly in the grill’s heat.

And if you really want the simplest method of making Connecticut clambakes, put the clams in a pot and add to it chorizo and corn and maybe some aromatics such as shallots and saffron. Just steam it until the clams open. There are indeed many cooking methods to choose from. Whether you opt for the more traditional complicated one, or the much easier pot method, it’s all really up to you. Just never forget to have a great time with your family and friends over the lovely Connecticut clambakes.

Feast On Connecticut Clambakes

August 21st, 2008 by author

With Connecticut clambakes, seafood parties can be great. Besides being the tasty food they are, clambakes can also refer to an outdoors gathering of people entertained by luscious and healthy seafood meals with fresh vegetables. It can be adapted into any formal or informal event - family reunion, corporate meeting, wedding party, or just a romantic dinner for two.

The hands-on eating lends itself to a casual atmosphere which makes it a terrific icebreaker when meeting new people. Plainly put, clambakes are fun! And with summer’s approach, it is the perfect moment to get the water boiling.

Traditional clambakes were held at the beach as food was cooked over a steady fire. Nowadays, local laws prohibit beach fires, so clambakes are prepared over a more efficient propane burner, but the traditional atmosphere still exists.

What foods are included in a clambake may vary. Some folks like to serve quahogs (hard shelled clams) just before the main course. Others prefer steamers (soft shelled clams) dipped in butter and salty broth to start. Mussels can be an additional or alternative shellfish and some folks like to get fancy and serve shrimp and clam chowder as well. Accompaniments include potatoes, corn on the cob, salads, slaws and cornbread. For dessert, ice cream is still the best. But whatever the supporting acts, the star of any clambake is the lobster bisque.

The original seafood clambake method is prepared over a pit along the coast that is two or three feet deep. The pit is then lined with rocks and a large fire that would reach 400 degrees F is set on top of these rocks. Wet seaweeds are then lined on the rocks, layered with potatoes, corn in the husk, and even more seaweeds. The pit is then lined with a tarpaulin which is weighted down with rocks. The clambake is then steamed for about three hours.

If you want a simpler method, just have the fresh shellfish and accompaniments steamed on a stovetop. You can put rocks in a large metal washtub across a couple of burners on the stovetop and layer it with clams and seaweed. You can then pour in a couple of gallons of seawater until it boils. Steam the clambake for twenty minutes.

But if you think seawater and seaweed are making things complicated, how about having a clambake on your grill over hot coals? This way, it will help boil the live lobster and potatoes first as they take the longest time to cook. The clams and corn will be cooked through the grill’s heat.

Fast And Easy To Make Lobster Clambake

August 21st, 2008 by author

The clambake dates back to the days of the Pilgrims in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Settlers witnessed Native Americans cooking seafood over hot stones and seaweed and thus the famous New England clambake was born. The Lobster clambake has become a summer tradition not only in New England but also all over the country. Now, with the Internet, you can have Maine live lobster shipped from New England to anywhere in the United States.

Live Lobsters can come in many sizes. The smallest lobsters are called chickens, and weigh between 1 and 1.25 pounds. This type of lobsters are perfect for people with small appetites or to be served alongside another main course. For the average appetite, you will want to select 1.25-pound "Quarter" or 1.50-pound "Half" lobsters. These lobsters are larger than the chick and will provide a hearty meal.

There are many kinds of shellfish and several different types of clams as well. Any shellfish will go great with lobster bisque, but to be as authentic as possible you need to find New England steamer clams. The steamer clam is large and has a softer shell. About 1 pound of clam is recommended for every person.

New England clambakes are most often served with corn on the cob and red bliss potatoes. They add to the delicious distinct flavor and presentation of the clambake. Both can be steamed, boiled or grilled in a similar fashion to the lobsters and steamers.

Clambakes have historically been cooked in holes dug in the sand with seaweed and hot stones. While this makes a nice presentation, the truth is that our typical ovens and pots do a much better job. The recommended way to cook live lobsters is to have them steamed. You’re going to need a large pot, a steamer basket, and some salt.

Have the large pot filled with an approximate 1 and inches of water, and for every quart of water, add a tablespoon of salt. Before placing the lobsters in the steamer basket, bring the water to a boil first. And then place the steamer basket in the pot.

Lobsters which weigh about a pound should be cooked for 12 minutes while those which weigh a pound a half are ready after about 15 minutes. Periodically check the pot to make sure that the water has not boiled off, if it has, add more water while cooking the lobsters. Then remove the lobsters one by one and pull off one of their small legs. To test if the meat is fully cooked, break open the leg.

Adding shrimp, mussels and clam chowder will also make your clambake a delightful feast. Fresh vegetables will also enhance your presentation with a more healthy look. Your lovely lobster clambake is now all set to be enjoyed by your party guests.

Theme Park Tickets

July 27th, 2008 by author

As many of you know when ever we decide to go to a theme park or a carnival it seems that every one else has had that same idea. By the time that we have arrived at the park there are long queues of people all with the same idea ? get in and have fun. So with nothing else to do we plant ourselves in one of the never ending ? or so it seems queues for theme park tickets.

Now we have finally gotten to the ticketing office and a year has already passed us by ? okay that was a little extreme. We may have been in the queue waiting our turn to buy theme park tickets for about an hour or two. Having arrived at the ticket booth we decide that we will be getting tickets for all of the theme park rides and attractions regardless of whether we are still alive at the end of the day.

So now that we have our theme park tickets in our sticky hands ? why sticky you may ask? Well in waiting to enter the park we had a light snack of delicious chocolates. Well back to our theme park tickets. Having bought our selection of theme park tickets we discover that we can use these tickets not only to get in the park but we can buy our food from the restaurants, fast food stands and concession stands as well.

So holding a very crumpled map of the theme park in our hands we head off for our first ride of the day.

One of the main components for making a dance recital look successful and fantastic is the fabulous dance recital costumes that are worn by the dancers. Halloween is a holiday totally centered on distributing and enjoying different goodies and treats. Halloween started somewhere in the British Isles and was initially celebrated as the feast for the dead. Halloween, also known as All Hallows Eve, is observed on November 1. Treat is a result of a tradition where people would go door-to-door asking for donations of food and money for the New Year’s feast and those who were not generous would be cursed. Some New Year’s turned into Halloween. Some Halloween party ideas include making use of monster footprints, ghosts, green pumpkins, Bobbling ghosts, Wicked witch, body parts, Icky cobwebs, sound effects, crunching bones underfoot, lighting. The Museum and Arts Center has exhibits of cultural life and natural history. In addition to the permanent collection, there is a changing program of exhibitions of artwork and arts and crafts. The photography exhibition highlights the local history of the area and there is a replica Victorian room. The major attraction here is the remains of a dinosaur, called a Mastodon that was found locally. A video film shows the excavation of the pre-historic animal.

One of the more recent trends that I have noticed is that many girls are into fairies. This came to my attention when my daughter asked for fairy costumes for play. I looked them up, and they are very numerous right now…..

Choosing A Hobby Makes Life Worth Living

July 5th, 2008 by author

You see, many adults never bother to choose a hobby. They may have had something that they enjoyed as a kid such as painting, playing an instrument, building models, or writing, but they put it away in favor of more serious pursuits as they got older. This is one of the most common and one of the most tragic mistakes that adults make in our culture. Americans are extremely hard-working and career driven people, and often neglect those crucial activities that make life worth living. Having something that you really enjoy to do as a way to unwind after work is as necessary as having a warm house and a comfortable bed.

As any tattooist - and certainly anyone wearing tattoos - would agree, it’s wise to take your time and carefully choose the most appropriate tattoo art for your body. That means taking into account your body - your size and build - as well as what you like, and the kind of look you wish to project.

You can also download electronic flash books, which are books of tattoo designs. Equally, the various tattoo shops nearby should have various collections of flash books. Visit those shops and ask if you can flick through their books. Read the rest of this entry »
