Liability & A Business-Owners Insurance Policy
March 16th, 2010 by cfprosWhen it comes to owning a small business, having a small business liability insurance policy is a must have. One of the most common types of policies for a business owner to get would be the business-owners policy. This policy has two parts. The first protects the business property against damage, including the building as well as anything on the property that is used to conduct business.
The second part of the business-owners policy provides liability coverage to the business owner. This part of the business-owners policy covers the legal liability of the business owner that arises from injury, property damage, and even personal injury or advertising injury (i.e.: libel, or false-advertising claims).
If your business also involves using vehicles for the daily operations of the business, you may also need to obtain commercial auto insurance to cover the liability arising from the use of any vehicles either owned by the company or used in company business. The liability portion of the commercial auto policy can provide liability coverage for the company while any authorized employee is operating the vehicle. In addition, physical damage coverage pays for repairs on the insured company vehicles arising from accidents or other causes.
